July 20, 2016 – Beasley & Gilkison is partnering with LifeStream Services to present a series of elder law presentations focused on estate planning and advanced directives. Attorneys Sara Shade and Ben Freeman conducted free public programs at the John Jay Center in Portland on June 30, the Forest Park Senior Citizens Center in Muncie on July 11, and the Winchester Community Library on July 21.
The attorneys discussed legal and financial issues impacting seniors including wills, durable powers of attorney, appointment of health care representatives, living wills, physician orders for scope of treatment, and funeral directives. They also emphasized the importance of selecting responsible agents and keeping careful records.
The estate planning attorneys at Beasley & Gilkison are available to meet with new and existing clients to offer professional counsel and practical advice in these areas and to provide appropriate legal documents.
